Historic 1/2 Mile Dirt Race Track- Year Round Fun
Oglethorpe Speedway Park celebrates it’s 63nd Anniversary in 2014. The half mile speedway has entertained race fans since March of 1951 when championship motorcycle racing debuted in Savannah. The first stock car race took place at the historic half mile in May of 1951. Johnnie Parsons was the first winner. Parsons was the defending Indy 500 winner that year.
Oglethorpe Speedway Park offers a 4,000 seat state of the art aluminum grandstand complete with hand rails, handicap accessibility, rest rooms, award winning concessions, VIP suites, concrete walkways and a full service Pub. The VIP Tower is constructed of steel and sits eighty-five feet directly above the grandstand concourse. Hospitality areas can accommodate groups in excess of 300. The massive speedway infield hosts concert events, car shows, and large group outings. The 144-acre property is located adjacent to US Hwy 80 just three miles from the I-95 interchange.
